Attendance:   Cotton, Harper, Masters, Roy

Agenda:

1) Attain - Masters is Staying Wednesdays, Cotton and Harper will stay on Thursdays. Teachers are going to invite students that are failing students. 

2) Backward planning Absolute Value Assessment - Include review questions for: functions,  graphing systems of inequalities (not multiple choice) students choose the method, 

Harper - Question about solving systems - Substitution or Elimination, Roy and Masters agree that they need both.  Substitution for Composite Functions later for Algebra 2 and Elimination for Algebra 2.  In doing the elimination method, scaffold the notes and provide a graphic organizer for the steps.  Do not give them really complicated elimination problems that require multiple steps for the coefficients to match. 

3) Progress Monitoring #11 -

4) Statistics - Where to start?  Topics are decided, where should we start.

Mini Embedded PD - Frayer Model and How you can use that for Math, Two column notes in Math

  • Set progress monitoring dates
Curriculum Updates:
  • Finish systems of inequalities this week. Quiz 1/18
  • Begin absolute value next week (1/21) for about 2 weeks
    • With AP touch piece wise functions 
  • Dawn Roy dove into upcoming units (statistics)
Looking ahead:
  • Backwards plan common assessment for Unit 6/7 from district common assessment
